A brutal explosion in #Beirut has injured over 4,000 people - and displaced hundreds of thousands more. UNICEF is on the ground working with partners to secure urgent medical supplies and provide psychosocial support to children. Donate today by tapping the link in my bio. @unicef
in 2011, we recieved this blessing to our family. 9 years later, you turned into everyones best friend. your slobbery good mornings and always showing us your toys were the best ever. your cuddles always felt better than the ones before and your loyalty to our family was incomparable. my heart has broken today. you were the heart and soul of this family and if anyone met dolly, you know how special she truly was. As I held your paw while you were going to heaven... I thought about the memories we made together and the adventures we went on like, London. Orlando. Los Angeles. Canada. Atlanta. you name it, dolly had probably been there. i'll never forget you. never. “All dogs go to heaven because, unlike people, dogs are naturally good and loyal and kind.” I love you dolly brown. you will always be our #1.
To make a difference in today’s pandemic and in the future, we need to believe in our power as young women. And our power comes not from blaming the system, but from changing it. From using love to heal and mend the broken parts of our world. To better humanity, we need to harness all of the tools and talents we’ve acquired and work together to accelerate change. In our globalised world, our voices will only be effective in overcoming oppression if they are unified and collaborative. The more we build on the power of solidarity, the more ready we’ll be for the future. As the world becomes a global village, the struggles of the next decade will require international solidarity. Thank you Millie, it is an honour to be here with you and your community of fellow girl bosses. Like Millie said, I’m @aya_chebbi and I created the first ever African Union Special Envoy on Youth (@auyouthenvoy) and am the founder of @AfrikaYouthMovement and @Afresist. I’m excited to talk to you about how we can come together as young women around the world to fight the effects that #COVID19 is having on access to education and to make sure our sisters everywhere stay empowered. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic schools and universities all over the world are closed. In fact, over 1.53 billion learners have had their education disrupted, 743 million of whom are girls. While many of us can easily adapt to e-learning at home, not everyone has so much privilege. In certain parts of the world, there is very limited access to the internet and tech devices like computers and phones. In low and middle-income countries, surveys show that boys are 1.5 times more likely to own a phone than girls and 1.8 times more likely to own a smartphone that can access the internet. That's why we have to empower girls during this crisis to have equal access to socio-economic and digital opportunities. To hear more, head over to Millie’s Stories today. To join the fight for equitable access to youth education during the COVID-19 pandemic, demand global coordinated action at @ONE. #passthemic #oneworld
When we’re already doing everything we can to social distance and keep each other safe from #COVID19, it’s easy to feel powerless. But while it can be heavy and scary at times, it’s also a great opportunity for us to learn more about how we can support our sisters around the world who don’t have the kind of access to healthcare, technology, and education that many of us are so lucky to have. That’s why I’m thrilled to #PassTheMic to Aya Chebbi (@aya_chebbi), the first ever African Union Special Envoy on Youth and founder of @AfrikaYouthMovement and @Afresist. I’m a huge fan and so inspired by the work she does. She is here today to talk to us about how COVID-19 is affecting youth education around the world and how we can come together to make sure young women everywhere have access to learning opportunities. I can’t wait for you to meet her. To join our coordinated, global response to COVID-19, demand action at @ONE. #passthemic #oneworld
Together, let's reimagine our world after #COVID19! 💙 Join me, @UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore and other special guests for the #WorldsLargestLesson LIVE tomorrow, June 16 at 11am EST. We’ll be discussing how young people’s voices should be at the heart of every country’s agenda. Save the date and tune in live with the link in my bio.
@tomiadeyemi is an inspirational NYT best selling author that writes about her community. I watched an interview with her as she so pointedly stated, “I didn't even belong in my own imagination". Its time for change. Follow and read Children of Blood and Bone and Children of Virtue and Vengeance.

While we stay home and do our part to flatten the curve, we must not forget those in need. My thoughts are with the great people and crew from Santa Fe, NM whom we didn’t yet get to meet in our company move on Stranger Things. In appreciation of this community, my family and I have donated 20,000 meals to the The Food Depot, which will provide meals for those hungry in the Northern New Mexico service area. @thefooddepot Also, to all those in Atlanta who have embraced us, to the ST crew and their families, you’re in our thoughts. My family and I have donated 20,000 meals to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which will provide meals for those hungry in their service area. @acfb Take this time to find enjoyment in the simple things, reflect on the impact of great people and then share the love with others. A special shout out to those who have supported me, inspired and empowered me, whom I admire and just makes me happy. #seearecmakearec #stayhome @eggoxcoz @malalafund #jasonbateman @netflix
