Good morning my matcha lovers! I hope you are coping during this latest lockdown. I thought I’d share a few of my lockdown survival tips: 🎵I start my day with listening to a "lockdown cheers" playlist made by my wonderful sister, instead of listening to the news, this puts me in a much better mood to start the day. 🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️Socialising is tricky at the moment but I need to connect with others, so I go for a power walk in the park with a different friend every day, which currently takes the place of the regular fitness classes I was doing and also helps maintain my energy levels. I aim for no less than 15 000 steps a day. 🧖🏼‍♀️When I get home, I take a long shower and things I’ve always neglected in the past, like moisturising or applying masks on my hair. 🍵 I then make my all important matcha latte, which is not only warming, full of antioxidants but also helps me focus - I then turn on my computer. 🎨🧑‍🍳After picking up my 3 children from school I try to find other activities we could do together at home, like colouring mandalas, preparing diner together. 💃🏼After homework is done and out of the way, we either turn the volume up and dance to Hakuna mattata and Beyonce, play board games or watch a funny tv show. 😴I make myself to go to bed around the same time as my children, so I can enjoy the comfort of my bed with a relaxing herbal tea, catch up with friends via FaceTime or read a book till I naturally fall asleep. #matchaandbeyond #matchamadeinheaven #meetyourmatcha #matchamonday #matchamademedoit #matcha #lockdowntips #survivaltips #matchalover #matchalatte #mondaymotivation #positivevibes #selfcare #routine

Following on from my message yesterday, I wanted to share a little more. As you know we will be closing our café on Saturday 31st October at the end of the day but this isn’t the end. We will still have our online shop and I’ll keep sharing recipes with you and in time hopefully more… When I opened the café two years ago, it was my mission to bring the best quality matcha to London and I plan to continue to do so but in other ways. We are already the matcha brand of choice in several restaurants and cafes, where I’ve also been able to train their teams ensuring they serve excellent quality and tasty matcha. If you have a favourite place which doesn’t serve matcha or needs a helping hand, please let me know! I’ve loved creating new recipes and finding different ways matcha can be used in food and drink, so I will continue to share my recipes with you on our website. It has been so exciting to create all those matcha recipes and our customers have been amazing, many who became matcha fans after visiting Matcha and Beyond. Whilst my amazing team and I are still passionate about matcha, delicious sweet treats and bringing you the very best experience, the past 6 months have been incredibly challenging due to Covid-19 and lockdown. We’ve really appreciated the furlough scheme offered by the government but unfortunately, we can’t continue operating in these circumstances. This is not the end though!
